The Other March Meet

All the West Coast guys have The March Meeet, which is a huge nostalgia drag racing event, but if you’re in the South, the March Meet is located in Dalton, Georgia, and it doesn’t involve a drag strip. My dad and I have been attending this swap meet and car show for the past 6 or 8 years, and it’s always been a great event, even though it has rained for the past few years. We arrived early on Saturday, and made a quick trip around the place to scope out the deals.

Model A Hot Rod

Loved this Model A and Ford pickup!

Full gallery can be viewed here:, we didn’t find much that fit our needs or wants, but it was a great event, and had a decent car show as well. I passed out flyers for the Coker Tire Cruise In, which is coming up next month….April 21st to be exact. Anyway, we made a few laps around the North Georgia Fairgrounds and had a great time. The car show and drag racing season is definitely upon us, so check out my shots from the Dalton March Meet and look forward to more stuff next week! It’s the first Bounty Race of the year, and I’ll be there to cover all the action!

Saturn Sky

I generally don't take pictures of Saturns, but this one is pretty cool! It looks just like a bone stock Saturn Sky, but it has an LS swap! Hard to beat a lightweight, rear-wheel drive, V8-powered roadster!

Model A Hot Rod

Robert Killian brought his immaculate Model A to the March Meet. Robert owns the crazy Model A that was featured in the February 2012 issue of Hot Rod magazine. This guys has a BUNCH of cool cars!

1955 Chevy Gasser

Loved this '55 Chevy! The stance is just right!

Mopar Hemi Engine

I took this photo so I could reference it in 50 years, and remember "the good ole days". A $700 price tag on a mid-50s Chrysler 354ci Hemi.

1957 Chevrolet Nomad

It would be hard to find a more solid '57 Nomad! I love the stance of this car and the fact that the owner left the original paint.

Chevrolet Nova Gasser

I saw this Chevy II before we even walked through the gate. I hoped for a low price, but I don't consider $3,500 low for a rough old gasser! I would've given $1,500...maybe.
